MyPropaganda!

Today was the wedding. After a very early start we arrived at Kam's and we all got fitted out with rather plesant pink turbans. After than we all got bundled into a coach and headed for the location of the first ceremony. This was the sikh wedding and we all had to remove our shoes before entering the temple. After that there was some food and then we were back on the coach heading for out next location, someone's house. Here the Baraat ceremony took place.

Another coach ride brought us to the Taj Residence where were were instantly assualted by a wonderful band where lots of dancing and clapping commenced. It was a joyously colorful affair. We then all headed into the hotel for the Hindu ceremony. Now whilst we couldn't understand what was going on in the sikh ceremony the leader of the Hindu proceddings took the time to explain what was going on in English which was nice.

After that was the stealing of the shoes. What happens is the members of Tanveen's family and friends try and steal Kameel's shoes so that the can sell them back to him for monies. The members of Kameel's family and friends have to protect Kameel's shoes. It became and elaborate affair with decoy shoes and whispers with the real pair stealthly hidden away under a jacket in Big Andy's arms. Some how the otherside got a whiff of the real shoes and Big Andy was rugby tackled to the ground by a screaming horde of relatives and friends. He relinquished control of one of the shoes and was left covered in scratches. There was then the bartering process to buy the shoes back. I can't remember what Kameel had to pay in the end.

After that some food and then a ceremony signifying Tanveen leaving her family at the hotel. We then headed back to Kameel's house where there was another ceremony to signify the welcoming of Tanveen to the Vohra home (I think). We ended the day with dinner at the beautiful Herbs & Spices. All in all an enjoyable day and congrats to Kameel for getting married.
