I've just (erm...a month ago now) launched a website for my flatmate Pete so that he can show off his music and get off that hobo junkjard called myspace.
It took me a while. Mostly the bloody comments system. If you visit the page, please, please, please leave a comment so that you can view my magnificient work! Blood. Sweat. Tears. They're all in there.
It's been a great technical learning experience actually. I stuck my finger in and examined many tasty new pies whilst making this website. Finally figured out how to use Freehand for nice stuffs (logo), dabbled in actionscript (flash mp3 player), got my ajax on (comments) and finally wrangled javascript under my control (most parts of the website).
Javascript is something I've known isn't difficult for about 5 years but I never bothered playing with it until this project. I'll be using it a lot more in the future - and before you linux nerds complain that it won't work in lynx, I'm proud to say that despite the extensive javascript usage, the page retains all usability with scripting turned off.
Which brings me on to the topic of this webpage. I've had this (very sexy) design for almost two years now. It's time for change. I must admit that Yak was right - the fact I need to post a photo or something with each post has meant that I haven't updated it as much as I should - I'm way too lazy for that.
The new page is being designed to be a bit more dynamic and flexable. It's going to be rammed to the gills with technology and I've decided to not use textpattern or any other blogging system. I'm going solo as it's a bit more of a challenge and I normally end up fighting with blogging systems trying to get them to do what I want anyway. All the technological gubbins will of course be accompanied by a very delicious design (hopefully).
So, this is probably my last post on this page as you know it (and I'm debating whether I should keep the old content or just start with a clean slate) but it is very much my goal to have the new page up before I go to India on August the 31st - less than two months - speaking of which, I really should get this passport thing sorted...

Wait! I'm confused, are you in India again this year? Or is this last year's post that's been recycled due to a site revamp??
That would mean that you're in India now? Confusion abound!
