I decided that my website wasn't web 2.0 enough and what I really needed was a tag cloud. However, clouds are a bit slow and formless so I decided what I needed was a train which will hurl me faster to web 3.0 hopefully breaking the sound barrier as it goes. I present to you, the tag train
Seriously though, when I was developing the website I decided not to have a tag cloud because I didn't think I had enough content to make it worthwhile. I also don't think they are visually that interesting and I'm all about the style over content. One day whilst out wandering the idea popped into my head of having a steam train with puffs of smoke made up of words. Don't really know how that got in there, but hey, who am I to question my brain. So here we are.
I think it makes tag clouds a bit more visually interesting. I'm going to need to tweak it a bit as more tags are added but I'm reasonably happy with the result. I'd be interested to see what other kind of tag noun combinations other people could come up with. To the more web design orientated visitors to my site (Olly, I'm looking at you) I present this as a challenge.

Hi Leonardo, thanks for the comments. I'm not quite sure what you mean by effects.
I use phpFlickr to get a datastream from my flickr account and then I build up the display using the 'square' version of my photos that flickr automatically generates. For the bigger thumbnail I use the 'small' version and put it as a background of a div to get it that custom size.
The previous and next stuff is done via ajax.

The tag train rocks donkey bottom. I don't know why that hasn't taken off on on other blogs as a link stream along the top.
What about a tag image? Think of something like:
http://whereisben.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/text.gif
but where words are different sizes, yet still make up an image. There's a design problem...
